New Drywall Installation

Drywall is the step where a remodel starts to look like a room. Bare framing becomes smooth, finished walls ready for paint. Getting there takes the right board, careful hanging, and patient finishing. Our crew installs drywall across Plano for remodels, additions, and full wall replacements.

Remodels, Additions, and Garage Conversions

Plano homeowners open up floor plans, add home offices, and convert garages into living space — and every one of those projects ends with new drywall. We hang and finish walls for projects of all sizes, and we coordinate with your other contractors so drywall goes in at the right point in the schedule. A room that is ready for paint on time keeps the whole remodel on track.

Picking the Right Board for Each Room

Drywall is not one product. Wet rooms like bathrooms and laundry rooms get the green, moisture-resistant board, since steam is a daily event in there. Garages and rooms adjoining them need fire-rated board to meet code. Ceiling board differs from wall board in thickness for a reason. Choosing the correct product for each surface is invisible when done right — and expensive to redo when done wrong.

Hanging Day: How Boards Go Up

Good hanging starts on paper. We plan the layout so seams land on solid framing and staggered away from corners, which keeps cracks from developing later. Boards are cut to fit snugly around windows, outlets, and boxes, then fastened with screws at the proper spacing. A well-hung wall makes every step after it easier and better.

Taping, Coats, and Drying Time

Finishing is a process of layers. First, tape embedded in compound seals every seam. Then successive coats widen and feather the joints, each one drying fully before the next goes on. Rushing the drying is how waves and blisters appear months later. Most rooms need two to four days of coats and sanding before the finish is ready to inspect.

Why Screw Spacing Matters Later

Screws placed too far apart let boards flex, and flexing boards crack their seams. Screws driven too deep break the paper face and lose their grip. Either mistake hides at first and shows up a year later as popped fasteners or cracked joints. We hang to spec because a wall should look right in year five, not just on day one.

Containing the Mess During Installs

Full-room installs make more dust than any other drywall work. We plan for it: plastic barriers over doorways, floors covered, and cuts made outside living areas where possible. At the end of each day we tidy the space, and when the job wraps we vacuum and haul off every scrap. When the job wraps, the dust and scraps leave with us.

New Construction vs. Renovation Work

Fresh builds give us clean framing and full freedom, but renovation drywall takes more finesse. New walls must meet existing walls mid-room, which means matching thickness, finish level, and texture exactly. Renovation also means working around finished floors and lived-in spaces. We do both, and we are honest about which challenges your project involves.
